summary

Uptick has no accounts, no advertising and no tracking. Your training log stays on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. When you use Coach, what it needs to answer is sent to Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, through Uptick’s server, which keeps no conversations from App Store users.

your training log

Workouts, routines, exercises, Coach’s conversations and what Coach remembers about you are stored on your iPhone and synced through your private iCloud database, which only your Apple Account can read. Uptick does not have a copy.

coach and ai

When you message Coach, or when Coach sets your next numbers after a workout, your iPhone sends Uptick’s server your message, what Coach remembers about you, recent chats, and the parts of your log or Apple Health data Coach looks up for that answer. The server passes it to Anthropic’s Claude and returns the answer. Anthropic processes it under its commercial terms, which do not allow it to train models on this data. If Uptick adds another AI provider, this page will name it first.

uptick’s server

The server runs on Cloudflare and stores data in the EU. For each subscription it keeps a code derived from the App Store transaction, the subscription’s expiry date, a scrambled copy of each install’s access token, and how much Coach cost that month. It keeps no names, email addresses, Apple Account details or conversations from App Store users. For TestFlight and test builds only, requests and answers may be kept for up to 30 days to improve Coach, then deleted automatically.

apple health

Apple Health is off until you turn it on. Uptick reads workouts, heart rate, sleep, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, body weight and energy to show your timeline and score intervals, and saves your workouts to Health. Coach reads Health data only to answer you, as described above. Health data is never used for advertising or sold.

hevy

If you connect Hevy, your API key is kept in your iPhone’s Keychain and Uptick talks to Hevy directly. Workouts are sent to Hevy only when you tap Send to Hevy.

exercise demos

Exercise animations are downloaded from a demo provider when you open an exercise. That request includes your IP address, as any download does, and nothing about you or your training.

purchases

Subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store. Uptick never sees your payment details. Apple tells Uptick’s server about renewals, expiries and refunds so Coach knows whether your subscription is active.

tracking and advertising

Uptick has no advertising or analytics tools, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not ask for tracking permission.

deleting your data

Deleting Uptick removes the data on your iPhone. To remove the iCloud copy, go to Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage → Uptick. The server’s subscription record expires with your subscription; email support to have it removed sooner.

policy updates

If Uptick's data practices change in a future release, this page will be updated before or with that release.
